ORANGE COUNTY – April 24 – Today, First District Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do won the endorsement from Sheriff Don Barnes, who recognizes the major strides Do has made in protecting and promoting public safety:

“Andrew Do has been a collaborative leader in efforts to address public safety challenges like drug addiction, mental illness and homelessness. In addressing these complex problems, Andrew has demonstrated his commitment to pursuing innovative solutions. Supervisor Do is the steadfast partner law enforcement needs as we work to keep the Orange County safe,” says Sheriff Barnes.

This endorsement highlights Do’s work towards strengthening public safety and emphasizes the need to re-elect a public safety leader to the Board of Supervisors. Do’s dedication to public safety dates back to his years as a prosecutor in the Orange County District Attorney’s office, where in his last assignment as a member of the Sexual Assault Unit, he prosecuted sexually-violent predators. As a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, he has continued to support law enforcement by increasing funding for the County Sheriff’s Department that worked to double Prison Realignment Funds under AB 109 to cities’ police departments.
